superbadnanny

Here in la casa del sol, we do not have a television set. thus, we do not get the jokes about commercials over the water coolers at work on mondays. but, sometimes we hear about shows that outrage us from well-meaning friends or people offer to "record" a show for us. A few years ago, Morgan Spurlock from "Super Size Me" had a television spin-off from the movie with 30 day experiments meant to challenge people. Our friends recorded the episode about two city folk who worked in a bar and went to live on a vegetarian commune in a rural area. It was super interesting and i was jealous that they got to be there among the dancing rabbits. Another episode included a mom worried about her alcohol drinking daughter so the mom drank more than her share for 30 days. Another included a rather conservative youth pastor who went to live in a gay community in san fran. i did not see either of those but heard a lot about them.

recently, it was brought to my attention that "supernanny" is giving advice about breastfeeding...actually about how a mom needs to not breastfeed her babe. yes, i did grow horns and my clothes became too small as my body colored itself green when i heard this. i can barely think of how to respond appropriately to encouraging someone to quit breastfeeding their child. so, if you have any comments, please post them! i am too angry at this point to speak intelligibly. oh, and i need to go breastfeed my kid.
